Beyond the veil

Beyond the Veil is an ongoing photographic exploration emerging from The Grain Project.

While The Grain Project develops a visual language based on grain, abstraction and darkroom experimentation, Beyond the Veil is one of the first attempts to use this language to approach the human body.

The series revolves around a simple idea. A normal image that contains a subtle disturbance.

The body appears calm and elegant, almost classical. Yet something remains slightly unstable. A fragment is missing. A face disappears. A gesture feels incomplete. The image seems familiar, but something prevents it from settling into a comfortable reading.

This small fracture within the image is central to the work. It transforms the photograph into a space of hesitation between form and presence.

Beyond the Veil is therefore not a finished series but a field of exploration. It is a place where the visual language developed in The Grain Project begins to encounter the human figure and where the idea of a silent fracture within the image starts to take shape.
